Secure Your Products, Secure Our Planet: Biodegradable Shrink Wrap
Shrink wrap, also known as heat shrink film, is a plastic film that, when heated, contracts tightly around items to safeguard them from dirt and moisture. Traditionally made from polyethylene (PE) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC), our biodegradable shrink wrap is engineered from plant-based polymers, such as polylactic acid (PLA) or other compostable resins. This innovative material allows the sustainable package to retain the key functionalities of traditional shrink wrap – strength, clarity, and shrinkability – while being biodegradable and compostable under appropriate conditions.
Shrink Wrap Application
- Packaging: Bundling multiple items together (e.g., canned goods, bottled drinks).
- Protection: Shielding products from dust, moisture, and damage during shipping and storage.
- Tamper-Evident Security: Ensuring product integrity and preventing unauthorized access.
- Presentation: Enhancing product aesthetics and shelf appeal.

How to Use Biodegradable Shrink Wrap
Using biodegradable shrink wrap is as simple and straightforward as using traditional shrink wrap. No special equipment or techniques are required.
Preparation: Place the items you wish to wrap on a stable surface.
1. Cut a piece of biodegradable shrink wrap slightly larger than the item(s) you are wrapping. Drape the film over the item(s), ensuring it covers all sides adequately.
2. Apply heat evenly to the biodegradable shrink wrap using a standard heat gun, heat tunnel, or even a hairdryer on a high setting. Important Note: Start with a low heat setting and gradually increase, as biodegradable films may have slightly different heat sensitivities than traditional plastics.
3. As heat is applied, the biodegradable shrink wrap will begin to shrink tightly around the items, conforming to their shape. Continue applying heat until the film is snug and wrinkle-free.
4. Allow the wrapped item to cool down. The shrink wrap will set firmly, providing a secure and protective layer.
